Veneers

At Applewood Dental, we want everyone to feel proud to show off their smile. Unfortunately, stains, cracks, and other small imperfections can make people feel self-conscious about their teeth. We can help you cover those small issues and get you smiling again with dental veneers.

What are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are solid, yet thin, pieces of material used to cover small flaws on the surface of a tooth. Functionally, veneers serve two purposes; to restore the appearance of a tooth and to protect the surface of a tooth from additional damage or staining.

What Dental Issues are Veneers Used For?

  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Staining or discoloration
  • Small gaps between teeth
  • Misshapen teeth

What are the Different Types of Veneers?

Composite

Composite veneers are made out of a special resin that resembles the color of your teeth. These are more durable and take less time to make than porcelain veneers, however, they are not as durable.

Porcelain

Porcelain veneers are made out of a tooth-colored ceramic material that provides an even more natural appearance than composite veneers. Although more expensive, porcelain veneers can also last much longer.

How Long Do Dental Veneers Last?

The lifespan of these devices will depend on what you eat and how careful you are with your teeth. Composite veneers can last between five and seven years while porcelain veneers can last between ten and fifteen years.
